COVID-19: 67 travelers among 540 fresh cases in J&K; tally mounts to 19419 | KNO

Srinagar, July 29 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Wednesday recorded 540 fresh positive cases of deadly pandemic including 67 travelers, taking the total number of positive cases in the UT to 19419. With 540 new cases, the tally of positive cases in J&K has reached to 19419 including 15201 from Kashmir and 4218 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), among 540 new cases, 389 belong to Kashmir division while as 151 are from Jammu division, officials said, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached to 15201 including 9086 recoveries while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 4218 including 2236 recoveries and 25 deaths. The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 7749 including 5792 from Kashmir division and 1957 from Jammu division. With 437 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 11322 which is 58.30 percent of the total cases which was over 63 percent a few days before.  Pertinently, Srinagar district alone has 4476 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 4218. "Cases tested positive in J&K include 203 from Srinagar, 20 from Baramulla, 15 from Kulgam, 04 from Shopian, 26 from Anantnag, 03 from Kupwara, 67 from Pulwama, 45 from Budgam, 03 from Bandipora and 03 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 151 from Jammu division include 49 from Jammu, 17 from Kuthua, 33 from Rajouri, 10 from Udhampur, 08 from Ramban, 12 from Samba, 06 from Doda, 05 from Poonch, 05 from Kishtwar and 06 from Reasi," officials disclosed. As per officials figures, 4476 positive cases including 103 deaths and 1808 recoveries are from Srinagar, 1835 including 67 deaths and 1309 recoveries are from Baramulla, 1491 including 1162 recoveries and 27 deaths are from Kulgam, 1416 including 20 deaths and 1066 recoveries are from Shopian, 1258 including 24 deaths and 950 recoveries are from Anantnag, 1069 including 741 recoveries and 20 deaths are from Kupwara, 1363 including 689 recoveries and 19 deaths are from Pulwama, 1228 including 680 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Budgam, 678 including 435 recoveries and 12 deaths are from Bandipora and 387 including 243 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Ganderbal. In Jammu division, 989 including 528 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Jammu district, 511 including 330 recoveries and 01 death are from Kathua, 633 including 219 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Rajouri, 427 including 303 recoveries and 01 death are from Udhampur,  533 including 252 recoveries and one death are from Ramban, 404 including 221 recoveries and 01 death are from Samba, 265 including 131 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Doda, 197 including 140 recoveries and 01 death are from Poonch, 134 including 54 recoveries are from Kishtwar and 125 including 58 recoveries are from Reasi. As per the daily information bulletin, 364,207 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 47,469 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 7749 persons are in hospital isolation while 12 persons are under hospital quarantine. According to the bulletin, 268,682 persons have completed surveillance period and 39,947 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 615,380 samples are available. Out of 615,380 the number of samples tested negative stands at 595,961 while as 19,419 have been tested positive, among them 7,749 are active and 11,322 persons have recovered—(KNO)
